Who we are
Career Blossom (careerblossom.co.uk) is a small independent UK career exploration website. It helps students explore careers, understand options, and take the Career Test to see which broad career areas may fit their interests.
Career Blossom is operated by Parisan Vazirinejad, trading as Career Blossom. That means Parisan is responsible for deciding how and why personal information is used on the site.
Parisan is the only person with direct administrative access to Career Blossom user data. We do not sell personal information and we do not use it for advertising.
Privacy questions: info@careerblossom.co.uk, or our contact page.
Information we collect
We only collect what we need to run Career Blossom and help you explore careers.

- Email address
- Education level you choose when you sign up
- A securely hashed password (never stored as plain text)
- When your account was created and when you last signed in

- Technical details such as IP address for security and rate-limiting. Career Blossom does not store IP addresses in its own database
We do not ask for your date of birth, home address or payment details to take the Career Test.
We do not use Google Analytics or advertising cookies.

Career Test answers and your interest profile
When you complete the Career Test, we use your answers to work out which broad career areas seem closest to the interests you showed. This happens automatically. Nobody sits and marks your answers by hand.
From your answers, Career Blossom:
- Builds an interest profile
- Suggests career areas that may be worth exploring
- Shows example roles in those areas
These are starting points to explore, not a label of who you are, and not a decision about what you must do next.
The Career Test is not a formal psychometric assessment. It is a practical interest tool for career exploration. For a plain-English overview, see How the Career Test works.
Taking the test before you sign in
You can finish the Career Test before creating an account. If you do, you can see a useful results preview straight away. Your answers are temporarily saved in this browser tab's session storage so you can create an account or log in without retaking the test.
- Closing this tab may clear them — they are not a permanent save until you submit them to an account
- After a successful save to your account, that temporary copy is removed
- Your answers are used to create your interest profile and career-area suggestions. Career Blossom does not sell your personal information
Why we are allowed to use your information
UK privacy law asks us to have a clear reason for using personal information. For Career Blossom, that reason is legitimate interests: running and improving a career exploration website in ways students would reasonably expect, while respecting your privacy.
In practice, that covers:
- Providing the service: accounts, the Career Test, saved results and favourites
- Improving Career Blossom: first-party analytics, feedback and ratings
- Helping you sign back in: password resets when you ask, and email verification when you create an account
- Keeping things safe: security checks and rate-limiting
Your right to object
You can tell us if you do not want us to keep using your information for a particular purpose. Email info@careerblossom.co.uk and explain what you mean. Ordinary language is fine.
We will look at your request carefully. Sometimes we may still need to keep or use information (for example to keep an account secure, or if the law requires it). If the information is essential to providing Career Blossom, like your test answers for your results, objecting may mean we need to close or delete your account instead.
Information processed outside the UK
Career Blossom is built for students in the UK, but some of the infrastructure that powers the website may process information outside the UK, for example website hosting, database hosting or email delivery.
Those providers process information under their own privacy and data-protection terms, as part of running their services for Career Blossom.
If you have a question about this, email info@careerblossom.co.uk.
How long we keep information
We keep information only for as long as we need it.
- Account information: while your account is active
- Test answers, results, favourites and ratings: normally while your account exists
- Feedback: with your account unless you ask us to delete it
- Password-reset details: about 60 minutes, or until used
- Email-verification details: about 24 hours, or until used or replaced by a newer verification link
- Temporary test answers in your browser: until they are saved to your account, cleared, or the browser session ends
- First-party analytics: for up to 12 months from when an event is recorded, so we can understand how Career Blossom is used across a school year without keeping detailed usage information forever. Analytics linked to your account are also deleted when we complete an account deletion request
There is no in-app “delete my account” button yet. To ask us to delete your account or other personal information, email info@careerblossom.co.uk.
How we protect information
We take practical steps to protect personal information, including:
- Hashing passwords before storing them
- Requiring sign-in to see your results
- Limits on login and password-reset attempts
- Storing password-reset tokens in hashed form
- Storing email-verification tokens in hashed form
No website can promise perfect security. Please use a strong, unique password and keep it private.
Your privacy rights
Under UK law, you may ask us to:
- See a copy of your personal information
- Correct information that is wrong
- Delete information in some situations
- Object to some uses of your information (see Your right to object)
- Limit some processing
- Receive information you gave us in a portable format, where that applies
Not every right applies in every situation. To make a request, email info@careerblossom.co.uk or use the contact page. Just include enough detail for us to find your account. You do not need formal legal wording.
If you are under 18
Career Blossom is for students exploring careers, including teenagers under 18. If that is you, you still have privacy rights, and this page is meant to be readable for you too.
When you take the Career Test, we use your answers to suggest career areas to explore, not to judge you or tell you what you must become. We do not sell your information.
If anything here is unclear, ask a parent, carer or teacher you trust, or email us.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when Career Blossom changes or when the law changes. When we do, we will post the new version here and update the date at the top.
